I started attending Stroller Strides when my baby boy was 3 months old, in September 2013. Having left my Pre-K - 1st grade teaching job, I was searching for a way to stay connected and not fall off the face of the Earth! My first class was at Brackenridge and I totally thought we were going to be "strolling" through the park drinking Starbucks...but that first class kicked my butt and I LOVED it!!! This was exactly what I was looking for! An awesome workout with no judgey looks...just genuine motivation from the instructor and other moms...sometimes you'll even hear a toddler shouting "Go mommies"!!!! I committed to 3 days a week, which was tuff with a newborn at first, but then I felt myself getting stronger and faster and craving the sweat...and tears...and laughter I shared with these moms. I gradually worked up to 6 days a week and was fitter than pre-pregnancy!!!
I was so excited when the opportunity presented itself for me to instruct. I've been teaching since March 2014 and loving every minute with these moms!!! Plus, I get my teacher fix with the 3-4 year olds...I often say I want a play date with just them;) I love teaching and attending Stroller Strides classes, as I've learned to lead a healthier lifestyle for myself and family. I'm excited to learn and teach the most effective and efficient moves for busy mamas and at the same time be a positive role model for my 14 year old daughter and 1 year old son. Instilling a love for fitness together!
Stroller Strides is so much more than just a great workout! I've made some of the best friends I've ever had!!! We push each other in class, we give each other therapy, we watch each other's kids, we talk/text/hang out outside of class, we cook for new mommies...the list goes on! I'm so honored to be part of such a positive and inspirational group of mommies!!!
